Editorial and calculation independence
A commercial relationship must not change a tax formula, financial assumption or result to favour a provider. Advertisers must not be presented as independent reviewers. A product mention is not a personal recommendation, and payment must not be represented as evidence of product quality.
How a paid relationship would be disclosed
- Display advertisements must be distinguishable from the site’s educational content.
- Sponsored material must identify the sponsorship and relevant material relationship near the content.
- An affiliate commission or referral arrangement must be disclosed before or beside the affected link.
- Introducing advertising or tracking also requires an updated privacy assessment, disclosures and any legally required consent controls.
